Championship Show Change of Venue
Please be advised that the 2008 CHAPS UK Championship Show which was scheduled to take place at Myerscough in Lancashire will now take place at ARENA UK, GRANTHAM.
The change of venue is due to circumstances beyond the control of CHAPS UK but please be assured that the new venue will provide us with all the space and facilities we need to make this Show a spectacular event. Please try to be with us for our 25th Anniversary of this Society.
The additional arena space now enables us to return to a 3-day show as opposed to the 4 day event published in issue 34 of a World of Colour. The Show Date remains as 29th, 30th and 31st August 2008 Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
We are currently working the revised schedule which will be available from mid-May onwards. Please be sure to send a 1st Class Large Letter Rate stamped self addressed envelope for the return of your schedules schedules from Carolien Hamilton, High Ash Barn, Sandy Lane, Chisworth, Glossop SK13 5RZ.
Please be advised that the Postal Closing Date for entries is Postmarked MONDAY, 11th AUGUST 2008 - no exceptions will be made. Entries may be made on the days of the Show but will incur additional fees. The earlier you enter the cheaper the fees! Foal Futurity and Dressage classes WILL NOT accept entries after the postal closing date above.
If you intend to come to the show please apply early for your schedules to avoid disappointment or them arriving after the postal closing date. If you have any late qualifiers to attend please make sure you have your schedule in readiness to enter the Finals should you qualify.
ALL classes at the Championship Show are open to ALL CHAPS UK Registered exhibits who are owned and shown by current CHAPS UK Showing Members - the only exceptions to this are the Qualifier Fianls classes which are denoted inthe schedule with the letter F before the class number, only exhibits which have previously qualified may enter these classes.
In addition, we will again be holding the Experimental classes for American Breeds/Types and Miniatures - these classes are open to ANY coloured of the correct type! irrespective of CHAPS Registration/Membership or not i.e. the exhibits do not have to be CHAPS Registered to enter and they do not have to be owned/shown by CHAPS Members. These are the only classes at the Championship Show which will have this exception made to them. This exception also extends to Stallion IDs - stallion exhibits in these classes do not need to carry a CHAPS Stallion ID - however, all stallions 4 years old or over in any other classes at this Show DO.
